Meet Jennifer Hand from Coming Alive Ministries

I met Jennifer Hand in September 2024, when we both had the opportunity to speak and teach at the Refined Conference in Tennessee. From the moment I met her, I knew this was a woman of God and someone I wanted to stay connected with.

Jenn’s passion for God and her wild faith are absolutely contagious. Whether she’s speaking from the stage, chatting over coffee, or catching up with you on Voxer, Jenn is fully present. Her genuine love for people radiates in every interaction, making you feel seen, heard, and cared for in the deepest way.

Jenn’s mission is all about inviting others to come alive in Christ. She is the Executive Director and founder of Coming Alive Ministries, established in 2012 to create spaces where people can experience the life and freedom found in Christ. Through conferences, retreats, written resources, and trauma counseling, Jenn shares the hope of the gospel.

With a Master’s degree in Counseling, Jenn has traveled to over 54 countries, offering trauma counseling and the hope of Christ in the midst of suffering after natural disasters and war. Her ministry reaches thousands every year, as she speaks at events worldwide, inspiring people to live fully in Christ. Jenn’s zest for life and love for Jesus shine in everything she does, inviting others to experience the joy of walking with Him.

From Military Brat to School Administrator to Kingdom Builder.

From early on in my life, change and transitions were a constant in my life. My Dad was in the military, so we moved every 2-3 years until I was in college. That meant a constant flow of new houses, a new neighbors, new friends, and new challenges.

As a teacher and school administrator, overseeing a staff of 70+ teachers and support staff, every year there was something new - new initiatives, curriculum, staff members, and policies that I helped to navigate by putting systems in place to lessen the load of my teachers.

I had to learn to adapt, pivot, and make tough decisions quickly throughout my early childhood, young adulthood, and well into my career that have allowed me to have impact on the world around me.

After 20 years working in the field of education, it was time for another season of change. God called me out of that work, just a few years shy of reaching my career-long dream of becoming a principal.

It was time to bring my leadership and impact a little closer to home. This time, God called me to step into being fully present as a Mom and Wife.

Each step of the way, I was learning to be a leader in my school, church, classroom, work, and beyond. And now I use my ability to ignite action in other people's lives as a Kingdom Builder so that others can be one, too.

This is the body of Christ in action.

The Good Life for me, outside of coaching and speaking, means soaking up the Colorado sun with my husband of 20 years and my two teenage soccer-crazy boys.

I love a good juicy hamburger, a Sunday afternoon nap, and going on new adventures with the people I love. Preferably ones that involve nature, being on the water, or exploring new cities. I'm an Enneagram 8, I love comfy clothes, and you'll often find me in front of a good action movie. 

At the end of the day, my heart is most happy when I am igniting action for other believers - whether it's for my kids and playing soccer, for my husband and the pursuit of his passions, or for others in the body of Christ - to confidently step out to do the work God has him to do.

My goal is to live a life that glorifies God, encourages others to be a little more confident in God's transformative power, and brings a little bit more joy to a lost and broken world.
